Prem Goyal elected Portsoken Alderman

Thank You

On Thursday 14th December, Prem was elected as Portsoken Alderman. He was elected with 228 votes and around 60% of the overall vote.

The result was as follows:

David BARKER, Independent 20 votes
William CAMPBELL TAYLOR, Labour Party 143 votes
Prem GOYAL, Independent 228 votes
Anthony SAMUELS, Independent 2 votes

The turnout for the election was 62% turnout – a great advert for democracy.

Prem said that throughout the campaign, too many residents told him that they had been let down badly over the years. He assured them that they will not be short-changed any longer and that he will work hard for them.

Prem finished by saying that he was looking forward to working with the whole Portsoken community as Alderman to prioritise Portsoken and build a better future for everyone.
