I am committed to looking after your data. This notice describes how I, Prem Goyal, as a data controller collects and uses your personal information while I am your elected representative to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018). Holding and Processing your Personal Information

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. Personal information that I will collect, store and use includes: name, title, address, telephone / mobile number, email address, photograph and social media handles, Special categories of data I will collect, store and use include information about your ethnicity, religious beliefs and electoral / voting record. I will also collect, store and use personal information that includes your interests and any other information that is relevant to carrying out casework and / or my role as your elected representative.

I, or my staff, will only process your personal information when there is a legal basis to do so and also for electoral purposes.

If I have your consent to use your personal information, you have the right to remove your consent at any time by contacting me at prem.goyal@cityoflondon.gov.uk

Collecting this information

I will not collect more information than is needed to fulfil my stated purpose and I will not retain it for longer than is necessary.

Storing this information

i will hold you personal information for as long as I am your elected representative.

Sharing this information

I will only share your information with the City of London Corporation, other Members and external organisations only when necessary and where the law and the City of London Corporation’s policies permit me to do so, for example for the prevention of crime.

Your rights regarding your personal information

Under data protection legislation, you have the right to request access to the personal information I hold on you, which is also known as a Subject Access Request. You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal information.

You also have the right to:

  • Request that your personal information be corrected if it is incomplete or inaccurate.
  • Request that your personal information is erased where there is no good reason for me to continue processing it.
  • Object to the processing of your personal information if you think that there there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing.
  • Request the restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
